Mia AI at Davos: Women's Economic Empowerment in the Age of AI

Mia Editorial Team

During World Economic Forum week in January 2025, Mia AI CEO Janna Salokangas joined Cherie Blair CBE to explore one of the defining questions surrounding AI and the future of work: what does women's economic empowerment look like in an AI-driven economy?

The discussion emphasized that while AI is transforming industries, long-term success will continue to depend on human capabilities. Leadership, empathy, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making remain essential as organizations adapt to new technologies. Building these capabilities is becoming just as important as adopting AI itself.

A recurring theme throughout the conversation was the importance of developing the skills for thriving with AI in the workplace. As organizations redesign jobs and workflows, success will depend on preparing people to work confidently alongside intelligent systems. Strengthening human-AI collaboration requires more than technical knowledge. It also depends on communication, trust, adaptability, and responsible leadership.

The discussion also highlighted the need for inclusive skills transformation. As AI reshapes the global economy, access to learning opportunities must evolve alongside technological progress. Expanding AI literacy across diverse workforces will play an essential role in ensuring that the benefits of AI are shared more broadly.

The conversations at Davos reinforced a simple but important message. Preparing for AI is ultimately about preparing people. Organizations that invest in human capability alongside technological innovation will be better positioned to navigate the future of work with confidence and resilience.
